Semiquincentennial Release

In making note of our country’s existence being equivalent to a 20-25 year old and knowing that our brain isn’t even fully formed yet, I find it appropriate to release this 1988 classic by the band ODIR in a new vinyl format.

This seminal recording captures a band whose music disrespects tradition, opens the mind to new possibilities in frequency and tone collection with an intuitive approach to song writing by putting the members in uncomfortable environments and challenging the audience to have the endurance to see it through.

While this release has always been distributed on cassette and more recently digitally, this new company called Elastic Stage offers vinyl on demand making this “limited” edition unlimited.

So please enjoy the local hit “God is Dead” when you consume your hot dogs and beer while I make a respectful semiquincentennial sushi.

I DID IT! (last one)

My retirement plan had always been to wake up everyday, grab a cup of coffee and digitize a record from my collection, then decide whether I would keep it or sell it.

I then calculated how long this process would take if I did 1 LP a day. The calculation was 10 years! I had a minor freak out moment where I I realized that if I started this process when I was 70, I would be 80 by the time I was done. That sucks! So I decided I needed to start NOW. That was 7 years ago.

The totals are 3663 record with a total playing time of 2513 hours, 31 minutes and 58 seconds.

Now on to the 10″, 7″ and 78’s.

And we’re live!
