I just flew back from New York and boy are my arms tired - (ba-dump-bumbp
TSH!). Take my wife, please! But no, seriously...

Climax Golden Twins and I were flown in to New York City by Columbia
University this past weekend to play two live shows and one radio show.
Our first gig was at NYU, and was attended by no less (and no more) than 2
people. Two - count 'em - two! Kind of took the wind out of our Big
Rocker On The Town Sails, it did. So a jam with Eyvind Kang, Trevor Dunn,
Climax Golden Twins and Annie Gosfield ensued (what the hell, who would
care?), and it's just too damn bad the multitides weren't there to hear it
as it rocked! Our second gig - at Columbia University - was fully attended
(thankfully!). We played with Ryoji Ikeda. The Twins did a few cuts from
their upcoming meme release as well as pieces incorporating location
recordings and other prepared nuggets. The difference in attendance
between the first and second shows? ADVERTISING (and lack thereof in the
case of our first performance). You will be tested on this later.

BACK HOME...
The studio saw the likes of Sandwhich People, who are continuing work on
their Zappa influenced music, which, of course, is near and dear to my heart.

Erik Iverson was in with his solo project - Wicker Palate "Mental Puberty"
- this past month. This is some of the most interesting stuff I've heard
in a long time - that perfect combination of drum and
bass/electronica/beat-oriented stuff that is ever-so-popular these days but
at the same time oh-so-retro sounding. I'll try to get a clip up soon.

Speaking of clips, I've recently included a link from my web
page to all of the real audio stuff I've created, which includes cuts by
Caroliner, Leotard Geeks, Wheezing Dogz, and all the Residents album
samplers I just worked on. Check it out and let me know what you think. I
aim to please...

Dave Knott was also in the studio for a mastering session for his new
release on Anomoulous Records. Dave's music is played on homemade
instruments, most of which you may remember as having been featured on my
web sight last year. Harry Partch comes to mind.

Finally, you Seattlites may chance to hear my commercial handiwork on KMTT,
KING, or Warm 106 - no, seriously! The radio ads I recorded/produced for
Pike Place Market are being played on those stations, but I have nothing to
do with the choice of radio stations. Of course, if you're just DYING to
hear them, you may listen to these ads on my web site.
