Prince Rama Shares New Track<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Last we heard from Brooklyn\u2019s Taraka and Nimai Larson, otherwise known as the sister-duo behind Prince Rama, they lost a member, then led an experimental music score and dance to a backdrop of old VHS tapes at Issue Project Room<\/a>.

Today, they share with us, via Pitchfork<\/a>, a new track called \u201cRest In Peace\u201d from the band\u2019s upcoming album Trust Now<\/em>. It\u2019s from the young band\u2019s fifth (!) full-length, and second on venerable label of Animal Collective bros, Paw Tracks. It was recorded in an old church \u2013 right for the band\u2019s occult leanings \u2013 and you can hear the expansive space all over the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRest in Peace\u201d has all the hustle of previous releases, but there\u2019s something brighter \u2013 the harmonies not as clustered, the rhythms not as dense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This last note rings especially true on the song\u2019s midsection, a thundering series of orchestra-hit equivalents, paired with metallic bells that will align all your chakras, or all the planets, or make you one with the universe or something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite synth player Michael Collins\u2019 absence, the sisters have managed to retain that spiritual air as just a duo. Nimai\u2019s propulsive rototom drumming and the ethereal vocals of both help summon that mystery we\u2019ve become used to hearing from the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
