It was written up in <a href=\"http:\/\/indiegamemag.com\/screenshot-weekly-destructive-super-novas-cause-craters\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+IndieGameMag+%28The+Indie+Game+Magazine%29\">Indie Game Mag<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scottcolburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IGM03-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2340\" width=\"674\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scottcolburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IGM03-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/scottcolburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IGM03-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/scottcolburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IGM03.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nova Blitz\u00a0<\/em>is looking to stand out amongst the\u00a0<em>many\u00a0<\/em>indie TCGs out there by offering an assortment of differentiating mechanics. As an example, the devs at Dragon Foundry mentioned that \u201cturns are shared between you and your opponent, so the action takes place simultaneously. There\u2019s no waiting for your opponent to take their turn.\u201d There\u2019s also a shuffler that \u201creduces the chances of Energy Screw (not having enough resources to play your cards).\u201d Drafts are then done between real players, so card packs are traded with actual players and not determined by a random algorithm. Finally, \u201c<em>Nova Blitz<\/em>\u00a0booster packs will be smart packs: You get to choose the expansion the cards come from; you won\u2019t be locked to one.\u201d There\u2019s a whole lot more information on the way, as the game is still in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vine.co\/v\/O0FwYimvL5J\">early stages of development<\/a>, but lore-wise the story pits different Novas against each other in gladiatorial combat in an effort to earn a place in the annual Nova Blitz championship, where winners receive fame and fortune.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nova Blitz is the game I&#8217;m currently doing sound design for.
